I am offered either of two choices, both worked in my Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit system. These are: MIDI Mapper or Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth. In either case I get the following error.

As far as I am aware, these functions/programs were and still should be part of Windows, not the programs from which they are invoked. I have on occasion installed different Synths but the defaults have always been provided as part of Windows. They seem to be missing or found elsewhere under a different name, perhaps? Compatibility checks show nothing found relative to these.
